So good to spend some quality time with Isaac Simhon’s “Fucking Dangerous Gang” at El Tony Mate’s Crew Clash in Adelboden. If you haven’t heard, it’s a team event where everyone gets a couple of days to shoot together and create a five minute edit. We linked up with EZ P, to get his thoughts on the event…

Yo Isaac… How did you like Crew Clash?
It was dope as fuck. I loved it. Good vibes, good people and a good park… that’s all you need.
How would you compare it to a normal comp?
It’s the best. So good for the culture… Sure, it’s a like a type of competition, but in the end there’s no pressure. Maybe some other people felt it, but for me it was so fun. There was no stress at all.

Really? That’s kinda surprising to hear, since it seemed like you guys had so much bad luck. I mean it started by losing your snowboarder…
True. Yung Doli got hurt before the event, but we were lucky to get Cedric (Neff) in his place. In the end, I was so hyped on him. He fit to the crew perfectly and was riding insane.
And then the airline lost Bella (Bacon)’s skis…
Ah yeah, she missed the first day and she was also super jet lagged, so it was really hard for her.
On top of that you were also sick most of the time.
Yeah, that sucked so bad. I was out for the second day. But the rest of the crew killed it. And that also gave us our idea for our edit, so it was all good.
So you didn’t really have a plan going in?
No, not really. I just wanted it to be real. And for us to ride together. I was proud of that. Every shot there’s always at least two of us. We were a real crew.
But definitely no plan. I don’t like that shit. I just let it flow. It’s like rapping… you’re gonna share what life gives you and it’s gonna be real.

Love that. And that’s also why it fit so well for you to use original music…
Thank you bro. The first track is from my homie 555 flaco. He did it while we were editing in like an hour. And then, after that, it’s my tracks that I did with Gilles. But it’s all home made and even if it’s not perfect I don’t care. I have a super cheap mic and the mix isn’t done, but it’s raw and it’s real.
What did you think of the edits from the other crews?
Insane! Everyone killed it. They’re all so different, but I seriously fucked with all of the movies.
But yeah, Matt Roche’s team deserved it. They destroyed it. Like that guy Tom on his snowboard? What the fuck was that.
I didn’t even care about winning any money. It already felt like winning, just from watching what everyone did. Seriously, the vibe at the premiere was even better than High Five where people work on movies for one or two years. How crazy is that?

Yeah, that was such a fun night. I feel like they have a really strong concept for this event, and it’s only in the second year. Do you have any advice for them for something they could change to make it even better?
It would be nice to have more shooting days. Especially for people who come from far away, with the jet lag and also with the weather. So like four or five days to film would be better.
That and some hot tubs….
Damn, that would be perfect. They definitely need to hook up some hot tubs for the crews next year.
I think that’s a good place to end this. Any shoutouts?
Shout out to Jah! And to TWIN. And to Guillaume (Schutz), my dog. AHOU!
Thanks EZ P! And thanks to the crew from El Tony and Adelboden GMP for pushing creative events like this. If you want to check out all of the videos from the week, you can find them here.
